PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow Members, I begin this report on a personal note. This will be the penultimate report that I shall make to you. Under the provisions of our Constitution my present term of office, along with those of my fellow directors, will cease on 30th November. My Vice President, Frank Deane and a senior Director, John Moore have indicated that they will not be seeking re-election. I cannot seek to be re-elected as your President and I shall not seek election to any other office. I have served on our Board since 1st December 2001 and the time has come for me to move on.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow Members I must begin this report on a sad note by reporting to you the death of one of oldest members, Neville Adam. Neville passed away on 15th September, having joined the Club in 1946. He was a most active member and a regular attender. He was for some time President of the Touring Group and an active member of the Veterans’ Association. He was a man of fixed habits and had his favourite table in Cello’s. The Club and two of its Sub Clubs were represented at the funeral by Nick Matis. Vale Neville. Download

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow members, It is again my pleasure to report to you about what has occurred and is occurring in our great Club. I have again taken the opportunity to read our General Manager’s report before compiling this one. Our association with Grocon, the developer of the ANZ tower and Liberty Square to our immediate north is almost finished. Work still has to be done (not at our expense) to repair damage to our northern wall occasioned by that development and we look forward to this important chapter in the life of this Club being closed. I take this opportunity to thank various Boards (and in particular our Vice President, Frank Deane) and our General Manager, Warren Lewis for their support and assistance throughout this long running process.

Dear Fellow Members, The main purpose of this edition of our Club magazine is to put before you relevant information concerning your Club’s activities and trading for the year ended 30th June 2013. The financial material has been duly audited and found correct and the directors have provided their report to you. Before preparing my report, I have read the General Manager’s report in which he points out inter alia the considerable upgrading that has been achieved in our Club.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow members, It is again my pleasure to report to you about what has occurred and is occurring in our great Club. I have taken the opportunity to read our General Manager’s report before compiling this one. Both he and I are looking forward to the time when the noise, dirt and extra traffic, which have been part of our working life for some years, finish and the footpath to our north is both clear and clean. On the positive side our northern and western walls and parts of our roof and its buildings will have been refurbished, repainted and cleaned at no expense to the Club, thus further protecting our major asset.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow Members, In my last report I referred to the development to the immediate north and west of our premises I told you that the Board would use its best endeavours to protect the Club’s best interests and the comfort and convenience of our members, their guests and hotel guests. Since December last we have been in negotiations with the Grocon Group of Companies about a Neighbourhood Deed encompassing this and other pertinent matters.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow Members Since I last reported to you in our June edition of this magazine, much has happened in the life of our Club. The two resolutions put to the General Meeting on 25th June were both passed unanimously and the Club auditors are now Messrs Meagher Howard and Wright. I sadly advise that the Board and General Manager have recently had bereavements. Lindsey Graham lost his daughter, Helen. John Barron his mother-in-law, Kerrie Lewis, her father and nephew and Charles Lucre has lost his wife, Jean. Our condolences have been extended.

President's Report

Dear Members, Well, once again we are approaching our Annual General Meeting and I am pleased to report that our end-of-year results have achieved a profit and have exceeded our budgeted target. This result has been despite completing the Boardroom and First Floor Vestibule project at a cost of about $200,000.00 and other projects within the Club. We had the privilege...
