President's Report

Dear Fellow Members, This is my first communication with you, our Members and Guests and want to thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors, the General Manager and Staff for your support of our Club, Hotel and our facilities. The restrictions of the last two years had placed the Club in various difficult operational and financial positions, resulting from the loss of your patronage of the Club, the Hotel, and various functions that we rely upon for income.

Live Music & Cabaret + Exciting Staff News!

A very receptive and appreciative group of Members and Guests welcomed back the highly successful Dine & Wine lunches on Friday 29 July. Our special guest speaker was James Manners from Manners Wines, Mudgee, NSW. James shared his journey and passion for making the four great wines we tasted: a 2021 Rose, a 2021 Vermentino (a favourite on the day), a 2019 Malbec and 2019 Shiraz. Watch this space for further lunches in September and November.

Welcome to our 40th edition of Club Chat and some great news!

If you have been in the Club recently you will have noticed how much busier it is. We are thrilled to report that since early March 2022, accommodation, food and beverage, and meetings have all bounced back to higher levels than the same time in 2019 (pre-Pandemic).

In fact, May 2022 reached 100% occupancy five days per week, balancing out to 83.4% for the full month.

A 'treasured jewel' is reunited with the Club!

As reported last month, our Club Members and House Guests are more than welcome to come in and play a game of snooker or billiards in the new-look level 3. What we didn’t tell you was that a very exciting project has been afoot! We were very pleased to accept the donation of one of the Club’s original snooker tables from former Club Member, Telma Harris.

2022 Event Highlights "A First Class Affair"

What a fantastic start to the year it’s been! Cellos has hosted four fabolous gala dinner events already, including Paris to Moscow with Love, a classical music evening, Paris After Dark French Cabaret, and Puttin’ on the Ritz Deco Soirée. Topping it all off was a magnificent Titanic-themed dinner party! The atmosphere in Cellos Dining Room was amazing on Saturday 9 April 2022, as 72 ‘First Class Passengers’ boarded the Titanic for a Sail Away Dinner Party, marking the 110th anniversary of its sailing. Boardroom Banter

You will start to notice some positive changes occurring around the Club over the next couple of months, as we prepare certain areas for the City Tatts Team and welcome some new Members. As reported in last month’s Club Chat, we have four snooker tables being relocated to level 3 from City Tatts Club. Their Administration Office will be relocated to level 1 soon and the Corporate Concierge program will move into the Reagh Bar on the Ground Floor, operating from 9am to 5pm daily.
